Acharya Vivekji facilitates our thought-provoking Sunday discussions focusing on the discourse and application of Vedanta – The Science of Life.  We are currently engaged in the examination of moral conflict through Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s dialogue.  Discussion and questions on subject matter such as:  conscience, moderation and judgment are presented in an informal open setting.  Each week, we are challenged to reflect upon the ideas presented and encouraged to begin applying this new knowledge to our journey of Self-Realization.

To appreciate any advanced subject one must first know the basics.  Tattva Bodha by Adi Shankaracharya is a scripture which enables and empowers a seeker to study more profound scriptures.  In the interests of deepening our understanding of the Self, every Monday evening we study the fundamentals of Vedanta within a thought provoking and welcoming group.  Vivekji's guidance makes the discussion potent and pleasant, setting the tone for the rest of the week.

What is a CHYK Discussion Group? The purpose is to provide a means for all participants to develop their knowledge and understanding of the ageless wisdom of Vedanta through a variety of materials, such as key texts, audio/video lectures, and articles – and to explore its practical application. We further enjoy looking at spirituality through a wider lens by discussing movies, books, articles, music, YouTube videos etc., that have caught the interest of our members. Finally, with a little meditation added on top of it all, we walk away feeling focused, refreshed and ready to tackle another week!

About Acharya Vivek Gupta:
Having experienced much of what the world has to offer, from studying at the Ivey School of Business to travelling to over forty five countries, Vivek still sought more. Simply tired of the inconsistent peace attached to extrovert pursuits, he decided enough was enough and turned his journey within.

In 2005, Vivek was accepted to the intensive two year Vedanta Course at Chinmaya Mission's Sandeepany Sadhanalaya in Mumbai, India. Under the guidance of Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, he studied the Upanishads, Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Shri Ramacharitramanas, Sanskrit, Vedic Chanting and a great deal more.

Joining the ultra rare company of those having graduated from a Sandeepany, now Vivek's only purpose of life is to make others aware of what is the purpose of life - to be unconditionally happy.

Through his innovative and passionate style, Vivek makes the ancient wisdom of Vedanta (vision of non-duality) relevant, relatable, and reachable. Intrigued by the fact he is a young adult born and raised in Canada, all kinds of social groups, religious organizations, and Chinmaya Mission centers around North America have invited Vivek to share his insights into the truths of life.
